Personally, I'd have a look in there.

My mother in law did that in my new 530 about 3 years ago. She did much worse to mine it sounds like. I knew right away mine was messed up. It smelled terrible and wouldn't go into gear. I had to get it towed to the dealership. It needed a new clutch and E-brake. It makes sense that with the resistance from the E-brake she had to use more clutch to get it to go. She didn't even drive it 11 miles though. It was more like 2 or 3. She really isn't a good driver though. I knew something was wrong when she didn't come back from her inaugural test drive within the neighborhood for like an hour.

I had to suck that one up to keep relations happy. I got some nice points for it though.

Mark: 7 Clicks to make it really tight; seems like it may be one or two more than it was.

William: I never thought about how hard it might have been on the clutch!!

Fortunately it was parked on flat ground and I dont think it was pulled that last "click" to get it really tight.

An odd occurrance - one of my Fuchs center caps popped off. Could be one of two things, we were on Rte 2 north of Annapolis and they pavement is striated while they are repaving - lots of vibration. Or, it could have gotten so hot it popped out the center cap.

Drove it today in a "sporting manner" on some backroads - ran and stopped like the beautiful machine is supposed to.

I think I'll inspect it when I get around to it rather than right away.

Autumn is a lovely time of year for an engine drop. I like Guinness, Bass, or Newcastle.

6 is the most they "like" but, as long as 7 locks it, I wouldn't worry. The whole point is that you are able to pull it all the way hard and still have room. The next time you are at the rear brakes and feel like dealing with it, take a peek but, you are right, you probably had 5-6 clicks before so no worries.

Sounds to me like your clutch is fine. I knew right away mine was F'd up. She did a real number on my car. It amazed me how much you could do in 2-3 miles. she must have been doing 6,000 RPM clutch drops with the radio blasted to do what she did.
