Default Board updates - 4.Oct.2008

The board was down tonight for some much needed maintenance. It has been upgraded to the latest vBulletin, which may cause a few issues. We'll sort them out as they appear. The biggest issue is that some of the third-party addons I've installed over the last year or so don't work with the latest vBulletin. So, in a choice between the security patches of vBulletin or the old addins, vBulletin wins.

Missing right now are the PM searchand attachment addons, as well as the thread ignore add on.

However, as a part of the upgrade, I've added support for viewing the board on mobile devices. I've done some initial browsing of the site on my phone and it works pretty well - much better than before.

Let me know if you see any issues pop up.

Fonts are too big where? On the mobile device or the regular board?

On the mobile device (blackberry 8130). It was a lot smaller when I looked at the board the old way. Don't know if that's something on the board end or my end.

Nice upgrade though, way faster loading and I've seen everyone's avatar a bunch of times.

I think the fonts on VASTEVE's posts are too large. Can you make just those fonts smaller?

You should be able to change on your end. On my phone (Treo 800) I can set the fonts to 5 different sizes.

It's a new thing with vBulletin 3.7. The idea is that you put certain "tags" like "engine, rebuild" on a thread and then people can search by tags. The idea is that it'll help return more relevant search results. It's enabled by default and I didn't bother to turn it off, so there it is. But I doubt anyone will ever use it.
