Default Review of the cars I've had SO FAR...

Ok, since I get so much flack for all the cars, I figure the least I can do is post the reasoning behind my actions....

My first p-car was an '84 944. Figured I'll start with something similar to cars I was used to (engine in the front, waterpump...that kind of thing).
After finding the cheapest one (DOH , first mistake) I ended up having to replace everything from tie rods, brakes, bearings to oil pan, and the grand pubah timing belt, water pump and resealing the whole front...good experience, but nothing I'd want to go through again.
Next came an 87 944.
Shortly after buying the '87 I realized I was done with 944s and so 2 months later I ended up selling it to a fellow pelican Clowd, who still proudly sports the fact in his signature by putting "1987 944 BOUGHT FROM SIBERIAN".
I kept the '84 purely out of sentimental value, as I'feel like I've "touched" every part of the car.
Next came the dream car (of sorts) the 66 912. Although fun in the summer, it's completely useless in the winter, and by this time I knew I had to have an all year around porsche fix.
After reading up on all models, specs, etc. I decided on an SC or a Carerra which ever came first. As luck would have it a nice '87 targa was up for grabs with a newly rebuilt engine, fresh clutch and a boatload of other paperwork. Targa was fun, but a noisy beast at any speed over 50 MPH. So off it went to a retired architect in Florida.
By the time I drove the targa home from Chicago, I was pretty sure of what I wanted...MORE POWER!!!...a 993 perhaps. After doing a bit more research I decided against it. Didn't want to pay the "993 premium" for almost the same set up in a 964. Most people I asked mostly responded that a 993 was cheaper to maintain and it looked better.
Luckly I came across a '91 coupe. After driving it just once I knew I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! The throttle response was amazing. A 3.6 coupled with a chip really does PULL...AND it handles like it's on rails... So that's where I am, happily driving the 964...for now...

Eli,
Hasn't the majority of these cars been purchased or sold within the past calendar year? You really should get a dealer's license!

A couple of things need to be sorted out...and then it'll be looking for a new owner... not my cup of tea...out of the two I prefer the 912
