My winter project will be the '75 BMW 2002. I need a enginne hoist to pull the motor and tranny.

Sounds like a fun project. Have you checked Harbor Freight for a hoist? Just a thought. I'll plan on being there, unable to offer much skilled help but plenty of stories about my old 2002.

Second if it somehow doesn't work with Dave. Probably not as easy either.
Mine is an electric one I just got at HF. It doesn't have a frame but I chain it to a 4x6 piece of lumber that spans about 12' across the attic trusses.

....as crazy as the american mechanics who tried to remove the 356 engine out the top! the german mechanics they told this to didn't believe it could be done.
