I have seen Dirk's [old] rig (as have several here) ... nice setup. If I didn't have the Dorki HQ / Foul weather shelter for the tub ... and ran the '76 ... I'd look into a setup like Dirk's. Very clean. Even had a space for fuel jugs ... right? I would also make my trailer tyre / wheels out of 6"X15" fuchs ... very trick Hell, I might try to figure out how to do that now ... anybody have 4 spare cheap 6X15 fuchs for a good cause...? Jase |

I had the larger wheels (13s) well large compared to the old Minis. That trailer saw 105 MPH on the Ohio Turnpike once when catching up to a caravan. Did not have fuel jugs just 4 wheels across the back 245s and 225s with a big toolbox (walmart) in front so I could get appropiate tongue weight. Sold it to a PCA Boxster owner and you can still see it at the track with a Scottish flag on the fender. I still have the "receiver end" on the Targa.

Drove to the track on the RA-1s until there was little tread left, then started packing them in the 944. Wife, kids, and other stuff followed in the MINIVAN
BTW, how do you get the comment (i.e. green group) to show up below your user name?

For all the "local" tracks, I drive on the tires and toss one extra in the trunk and one on passenger side floor. If further, I do the JackO roof rack set-up.

Well, if you had your engine at the correct end of the car (like in a 944), you can fit four wheels in the back, and still have enough space for miscellaneous junk
