Nahh.. just a way of fooling you.. pushes you out farther. Makes it an oval, not a circle.

Outside the cones -- it's meant to be oval, not circular. Increasing radius to decreasing radius to "Oh ****!"

I have a '76 911S. I have never done one of these events but have a lot of interest. Is this a good starting point or should I wait for another event?

We offer an Autocross School each Spring, which is a very good starting point to get involved in autox'ing. However, it is not a pre-requisite to attend one of our regular events. We have a number of veteran autox'ers available at each event to answer questions and help give you pointers. It won't be the same level of one-on-one attention you'd get at the school, but it'll be a good start regardless. I would suggest to come out and give it a try. Set realistic expectations, and you'll have a fun time.

why wait? if you have an interest, you could at least spectate. if you want to participate, you might look into the helmet requirements. possible lending at the event but ..... looks close (at least closer than me) to your location.

Fact is, most of us got started by just coming out and giving it a try; then doing the school when it rolls around on the calendar. Give it a try. A great adrenaline rush is guaranteed!

Another fun event. Thanks to the pagonis' for letting me share the burgundy car. I was quite impressed by its driving characterstics. Hopefully by next event the 914 will be ready.
