Default Dumb question -- where can I get an AC belt?

I've called the normal auto parts places, plus the dealer. I just need a basic 964/993 AC belt, 13X1085mm. This shouldn't be hard to find, right?

I have a slightly used one you can have. Did you call HBL? I can't figure that they would not have it.

Yes I will be in the shop working on the car no less.

I looked at it to check that it was a 13X1085 and it is. The belt has some wear on one side but looks like it might spin a compressor for a day or so. I will take 1/2 the original asking price and thats firm.

Important update: I went to Kurt's, installed the belt, and cruised home in the kind of cool, 80-degree cockpit temps that only a 993 is capable of producing on a hot day.

Thanks again, Kurt.

I dunno, when I had the AC belt on my Carrera, it did a pretty respectable job of keeping the cabin at 85 degrees on a 90 degree day.

Check that the pulleys are lined up well. Belts don't just kick off pulleys. Too loose or old and rock hard they slip and scream or smoke.

The compressor spins fine, and I don't see how the alignment of the pulleys can be off. The compressor is secured to the engine with four bolts that fix it to a ramp on which it can slide slightly. Then there is an adjustment bolt. The way I did it was to tighten the compressor bolts finger-tight, then screw in the adjuster bolt to tension the belt, then tighten the four compressor bolts to full tight. Am I missing a step or something?
