Default Old ladies and cars

Stopped at a gas station over the weekend, and this little old lady asked me if I could help her with her car. Sure, no problem. I walk over to her car, and she's apparently trying to put air in the tires. She says she thinks something's wrong, maybe there's a leak, because the pump isn't shutting off, it just keeps running. And BTW, she says, how do you tell when the tire is "full"? I grab the tire gauge from my car and put it on the one she's been working on. Are you ready for this? It reads 95 psi.

I'm holding the little bleed button on the gauge for what seemed like eternity, till it got down to 34 psi. Also set the other three to 34 psi since who knows what they might be at, and then sent her on her way.

I'm not exaggerating, she had that tire filled to 95 psi!!!

Maybe she was experimenting with inflation pressures to try to work out some handling issues.

(I would have found a LONG stick to release that pressure!)

You are a good man, George... I would hope my generation of women is smarter about such things when we get old, but I'm not really holding out too much hope...

FWIW... My dad wouldn't let me drive until I proved to him that I could change a tire, fill it with air and change the oil... I was ticked, but it was a good move...

I did something like that about five years ago. I was on 95N heading back to NJ and a rear tire blew on my daily driver ('96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Don't be hatin'). The donut tire was pretty low, so after I put it on I went to a gas station and filled it to the max. Something like 70psi. Seconds later while driving back to the interstate it blew.

you realize you defused a bomb, that could have gone off while you were squatting there next to it holding the bleed button. very heroic.

What he forget to include was how short her skirt was and that she wasn't wearing any depends. Sure, let me bend down here and peep at your rotten peach. No problem sugar. George has a thing for older ladies.
