Hmmm...I've got a lot of perfectly functional bits including an engine and tranny sitting around. Would it make any sense to marry them up!?!? What would I be getting myself into?

I saw the ad and it sounds nice. It's a high end GT car, but you knew that right? Would make an exciting DE, NASA GT? racer. You looking to go racing?

time = $
How much you got? This would be a full build and then ... probably have to trailer it. Got the time, space, know-how, patience, time, $$$, time ...? Then, I'd say go for it. Everything is possible, just takes time and $$$. Not poking fun, just being a realist having put together a few race cars, watched other people get paid to put together a few and also put together several street cars. $11K for what he has into it is a good deal. I'd inspect cage, FG / CF fitment of panels, rust / structural typical places, etc... befor I pulled the trigger. |

That was my chassis. Sold it to Wes Nicolas(who had to move out of the area, become a busy corporate attorney, and stop all of his track car activities).
Wes has stored it for a few years in his garage at Summit hoping to get around to finishing it. No rust issues. Plain 73 tub was clean/rust free when I bought it from Bob Williams. I then had Mitch Piper build the cage, attach all the body work and finish the tub. The build up of that stuff was all professionally done by Mitch, no expense spared there. Wes has the receipts to prove it.... There is still a lot of work to be done, but if you have the engine, tranny, etc. That's the major stuff, just need time to hook it all up. This is an amazing price considering what it cost to get to where it is. I am sure Wes can make arrangements for you to check it out. Pretty sure it is still up at Summit I sold it to go back to stock class racing with some of my friends. If you have any build up questions, let me know. Feel free to contact me for more details.

It would be a big project. If you had an early car you'd be better off with this, but a LOT of your 964 stuff won't work. Trans won't fit because of the torsion bar tube (unless it's been cut out for coil overs, which I didn't see in the add). Oil cooling might work with a lot of effort. Front suspension? Nothing you can use from the 964.
IMO, if you want to look for a roller to xfer parts, look for a 964 or 993 roller. For this 73, about all you could use without a lot of fabrication is your engine.
