My admiration goes out to that guy for sticking to his guns and to his imagination to building such a nice car.

I have been following that build for a while, and yes he built one hell of a nice car. I just wish he would have started with a longhood in bad shape and left a good one for a purest.
It did turn out sweet.

That's just amazing I don't even want to know how much that cost him.

Also, although I've never experienced it first-hand, I suspect the RSR experience is less about the look of the car and more about the visceral feel of the car. I wish he hadn't put in all that soundproofing, etc... But still very nice.

Extremely cool! I was thinking the same, Rick, but longhoods are much more common in Cali than they are around here.

If you look at some of the other links he provided on the last page (showing addt'l info on the build) he mentions (and provides pics of) the really nice 3.2 that he used as a donor car.

Was agreeing w/ you on the longhood comment, Rick...just pointing out that he took apart two "good" cars to make his RSR. Check out the pic of the 3.2 he used as a donor, it was pretty nice as well.

He wrote that he got some advice from a local guy who just built an RSR that if you buy a really nice car to use as a donor, it ends up being cheaper in the end.

Here's the site link including pics of the 3.2...
