Just returned from Williamsburg, and the annual tubfest.
For the first time in my memory, an 'Outlaw' took Best of Show at the event where some of the finest stock and modified 356's on the East Coast were on display for review. And it was none other then Lewis Hauser who took the trophy home!! Local boy makes good... His unique car with a 912 engine, is actually made from 3 different cars, with a 'C' nose being used to make the rear-end of the car. Awsome. Here are some pics. Even an actor named "Jerry' liked it... You may have seen this car on display at the Smithsonian a few months back... http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/mod...view_photo.php http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/mod...view_photo.php http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/mod...view_photo.php Thought some of you who know him might be interested to know. Keith

Mr. Hauser had his outlaw at the VIR DE last year. Several of us crawled all over it and picked his brain on the buildup and beautiful bodywork, nee.. coachwork
It is true ... the car looks TEN times better in person. Great color and amazing fabrication work. The longer you look at it the more details you notice. An overall win ... how many purists went into cardiac arrest...? Did you see Henk Whisker there? He told me at PCAPotomac Club Race that he was going. Tried to get me to trailer down for the event. I reminded him that there was track time to be had .... 8) Jase |

It looks like L. H. was trying for the #1 car look (project number 356). If so his looks even better than the original

Jase, are you sure it was Louie Hauser that had the 356 at VIR last year?
I remember seeing a outlaw coupe that's in this months Excellence. |

The article in Excellence was the punched out 2.7, stone grey, outlaw that was at VIR 2003 by the concession stand. He was local to that area and performed most of the rear quarter extension work and other body work himself. THAT was a beautiful car! Remember the craftmanship in extending and rear apron and corners behind the wheels? Very nice. Jase |
