Welcome, nice pics and nice intro too. Are the HPDCs you mention with a club? PCA calls their intro HPDC, other track days are Drivers Education. Just curious since it sounds and looks like you will be using your S2 as it was meant to be used I like the S2 sticker, I've only seen a few and yours is an S2

very nice car. i would love to have one of those as a 2nd in the garage one day. I bet the A/C will work. Mind if I ask what kind of a range you are looking at for one of those on the east coast?
Very nice. Love the black and linen set up.

Seriously. No screwing around: "Here I am, and 50 photos to boot!"

Welcome! That's a helluva red valve cover. Looks like a fun car, you can share your secrets with me on how to keep the linen carpets clean. After last weekend at SP, I'm debating removing it entirely. What a mess.

Cool! The S2 is my favorite Porsche ever, and yours looks like a fine example.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try to address the questions/suggestions as sustinctly as possible, but I tend to lean on the long-winded side

1- Fix my odo
2- More camber for the front end
3- Fix the "floppy" shifter
4- Fix the airbag light - prev. owner had a Sparco steering wheel in the car, and put the orig. back before the sale. He gave me a procedure to reset it, so I'll probably just do that myself
5- Track brake pads - need to be streetable enough to drive to the track, i.e. no Hawk Blues
6- Plain rotors
7- Threaded collar and 2.5" spring perch for Koni Yellows so I can switch to the 250# springs in those nice Hypercoil tubes
8- 17x9 track wheels - preferrably all w/ the same offset so I can swap front to rear for better tire wear
9- 255/40/17 RA-1's

I'm originally from NC, so I started out with Tarheel SportsCar Club, but since moving to MD, I've been running with NASA and Mazda Drivers. My last 2 track cars were Mazda's - a '91 Miata, and most recently an '04 RX-8. I also have some track time in a friend's 944 Cup car, which lead me to this S2.

I live in the Truman Show neighborhood, otherwise known as Lakelands/Kentlands. I'm off of I-270 exit 9.

The AC better work...the PO had the system changed over to R134 and had the system charged yesterday before I left. It blew 34 deg when they tested with the pyrometer.

I figured someone would ask about the price. I paid $9K for the car. I'm pretty happy with the price, as the PO was super anal about the car and is a neat freak who kept good records. I have a CD with pics of the engine being rebuilt.

I have a feeling that I'm going to have a love/hate relationship with the linen carpet. I do own a Bissel Little green, and I see it getting used fairly often with this car.

Welcome! Great intro. I live in northern Potomac (Copenhaver) and you're about halfway between me and JazzBass (who is the site administrator). Old Tee lives in Derwood, no too far either. Come on out to the PCA Potomac events, and I'll look forward to seeing you (pass me) at the track.

Break pads: I switch mine out so use Hawk HD-10's which are awesome, but many, many on this board use PF-97s (I'll look forward to a lot of flack if I got that wrong...).

Where did you live in NC? I used to live in Winston-Salem, and we have a few members living in NC now.
