Anyone have a book, manual, ect for a CIS wiring diagram? Charlie and I are trying to trouble shoot why my lambda brain is not getting any power. I replaced the relay and the fuse that it runs off of, but no luck. Frequency valve is not chirping...Working on it tomorrow afternoon.

I have the bently version on PDF that you can read and print with adobe.
I also have the factory version for the 82 which I think is the typical version that is out there. I'm not sure they updated it in 83?

looking at the diagram it get's power from fuse 16 or 18 (5 Amp) (hard to read) which also feeds the clock. Is your clock working?
The power is hot all the time and goes to terminal 30 on the OXS relay.
This relay also get's power on terminal 86 from terminal 30 on the fuel pump relay. This is the terminal that provides power to the fuel pump itself, the warm up regulator, supplemental air valve and the OXS relay.
My guess if your car runs. (The fuel pump is going) then you should have hot at 86 on the OXS relay.

My guess then it would be the fuse or the wire going from the fuse block.
You will see this on the diagram.

I think it is fuse 18 (5A), which I replaced with a new one just for kicks. This fuse also supplies the interior lights (dome on Targa), glove box, front hood, ect). I have power for the dome light in the on always position only. The other lights don't work at all - I just got new bulbs that I'll try tomorrow. Clock also stopped working (about the same time as my CIS trouble began??)

Car starts and runs, just not optimal - backfires and irregular idle and won't accelerate at warm-up, poor performance and bad fuel consumption.
So I think I'm getting power to terminal 86. Just replaced the OXS relay and the fuel pump relay.

I guess it could be the wire going to the fuse box - I can draw a spark from fuse 18 though when I take it out and put it back in. Odd that none of these other accessories are working except the dome light in the always on position.

Any other thoughts before I start going crazy tomorrow afternoon ?

My guess is that you narrowed it down to that fuse. I'd trace the wire back from the OXS relay or find that color wire at the fuse and try and trace it twards the relay. You may find a few wires that are cut or broken.
Nothing like digging in. You might also do a continuity check on both ends of the wire.

I disconnected my o2 sensor completely, how's your car run without the sensor? My car actually runs better without it. Before that I replaced the sensor and the control box relay, with no improvement in performance.

Interesting comment about SCs running better w/o sensor. I observed this years ago & so left my ‘82’s 02 disconnected. My theory is that the SC’s simplistic 02 circuit is only used to lean the mixture out for emissions. Disconnected the 02 & the system seems to maintain a more opportune air/fuel setting. I had to lean out the car for state emissions anyway so never bothered to reconnect. Only 1 more cycle & the ’82 falls off the fed radar anyway. Comments from CIS gurus

I had the O2 sensor discounted also. Actually installed a new one when I installed a Fabspeed cat-by-pass. No change either way...which tells me the lambda brain is not working at all. Probably will have to trace the wire for fuse #18 as Bill suggests.

Charlie and I are going to trouble shoot this afternoon - also new plugs, distributor cap/roter and MAGNECOR wires, which came in last night,m will be installed.

I hope to end this CIS nightmare soon Praying its not the lambda brain itself that is bad because a rebuilt unit from Vertes is $549

maybe that's why my SC idled high at the HPDC. i noticed the O2 sensor wire was broken so i spliced the wires together. never had a high idle before... now, where are my wire cutters.....
