I recently got a bumper that had some lights in it. This is for my paint job.
I haven't taken them out of the new one yet but I did on the old bumper. I think I broke one or 2 of the studs. Bottom line is that I think I have 8 now that I will need to get the best 4 out of. I'll probably be able to give you one for your project. You migh have to tell me what it is first. A PM will be fine! Do you know if the 4 lights in the bumper are all the same? I think they are the same as the 87?

In anticipation of high engine temps while on the track, I've been thinking about making a custom scoop utilizing the space currently occupied by the light housing. I'll make it out of fiberglass to direct cool air to the front oil cooler.
You can buy mass produced ones for about $90, but since I've got fiberglass resin and mat already in the garage, I thought I'd try and make one myself. I'll try to stop by sometime this week.

Keep us posted on your project, I'm sure I'm not the only one interested. After getting pretty warm at the track last week I need to come up with something for the summer.

I think I should have it. Maybe even the right color paint. (The donor is silver. ) They all seem to have some over spray.
I'll check as soon as I can, but I'm almost 100% sure right now. Where to meet? I may be home on Friday. I know that I will be up near Olney (Springbrook HS) on Sunday. That's probably half way. Where do you work? BTW what lights are on your car. I'm thinking about my options. My car has the US sealed beam with chrome rings. (Not really right on a euro car.)

Vu - I'd think twice before you invest any time or effort on that project as I was considering buying one of those scoops last year but went a different route.
Maybe your set-up is different but when I looked underneath my car I saw that the scoop would be pushing the majority of the air over the top of the cooler. Instead, I bought a piece of sheet metal and formed a tray which I mounted on the bottom of the cooler to the front valence which prevented the air from going under the cooler. I then used some of the plumbers foam (ie., the stuff that gets wrapped around the pipes) to block off the top and sides of the cooler so now the air couldn't escape there either. End result is that the air has nowhere to go except through the length of the cooler as all of this has in effect created a tunnel. Although I did consider it, I didn't even cut out any of the notch that exists between the bumper and valence. The impact of these changes were immediately noticeable and now with the new engine thermostat my temps never went above 210 at either of the track events this year. BTW, I choose to remount the horns although I could have gotten away with just bending them out of the way but I figured why leave them in there to divert the air flow. Instead I bought a $7 horn from Advance Auto and wired it in and now that serves as a support for the front end of my tray Good luck and let us know how it turns out ...

Doug, I was working on the same thing tonight. I took out the horns, wow they are heavy!, and was cutting some cardboard to make a shroud for the cooler. Now, 7 stiches later, fresh razor blade met quad, I think I will have to wait a couple days to test out the cooler.
Great ideas guys!
