Three color coded run groups. A turn is: you probably hang out by Turn 7 and an instructor talks to you about the line through the turn and how badly the students on-track are missing it. You're right, the on-track sessions in the afternoon aren't real long, but by the end of the day you're pretty tired.

The idea of beer and pretzels before a 70 mile drive home is an interesting concept as well

You might try posting this on the “Other Porsche Site”. Don’t forget to report back!
I’ve been to several as a worker & never heard of "A Turn". Usually, HPDC has a short Tec session in morning, just to make sure no one’s car is riding on air, or pulling to one side real bad. Then some class time, driving exercises, time on the skid pad (A turn?), & then Laps. Participants are broken into groups so 1 group can be doing 1 thing, while the others… get the picture? The in car instructors get track time while students are other wise entertained. Can be a very good introduction to driving “spiritedly”, can be very exciting, can be a lot of fun.

"Brown to a turn", as in, nicely sunburned?

A wizened individual called an "instructor" will corral a bunch of "students" and herd them to a particular turn on the track to watch and critique their fellow student drivers.

A turn is the curvey bit where the car isn't doing the straight thing.

Hey Bob,
What happened to the Skid Pad evolution for HPDC?
It seems to be missing, but its probably a misread on my part, right?

Tony, it looks like VASteve only posted the afternoon schedule. The skidpad exercise is usually held in the morning.

Thanx Jim - misread on my part.
Thought for one horrible moment that the best fun part had gone.
Phew!

Skid pad? We don't need no stinkin skid pad!

Tony's right - the skid pad is the funnest part. You can really learn car control and throttle steering on a skid pad. If the sprinklers work like they did last year, the skid pad will be partially wet and partially dry - even more of an experience!
