Default What do you do with old rotors?

We have a couple sets of old rotors -- is there anywhere to recycle them? We live in Montgomery County.

At least in VA, ferrous scrap metal can can be put in normal residential recycling bins.

Alternatively, the moco dump right next to the Shady Grove metro has a scrap metal area.

Most shops would not complain if you asked to drop them off. They get a couple cents per for them. If you happen to be in Tysons I have dumpster size rotor recycle bins you can drop them in.

There's a metal recycler near me, I drop them off and get a couple bucks for coffee.

There is a metal recycler just off Gude drive that will pay for them. They don't pay much - but if you have a LOT of rotors or other metal stuff it can be worth the trip. They pay considerably more for aluminum (of course, it's by weight) and especially copper. If you have like 6 rotors, save yourself the trouble and just drop them off in the "metal" section at the transfer station on Rt.355 (just below Shady Grove Road).
