Default 1968 Corvair Coupe - $600

Selling a 1968 Corvair 500 Coupe. This car is numbers matching and has 31k original miles on the car. The title reflects this.

The car is all original except for a respray done a long time ago, and is very solid and complete. It's an all original 43 year old car so it does need work. It does have some rust around the windshield and the headlights. It needs a driver's side floor. All doors open and close solidly as do the hood and trunk. The ancient respray is flaking and peeling. The car is an automatic (powerglide). The wheels shown do not come with the car. It comes with the original steel wheels and hubcaps.

The original 110 smog motor comes with the car, but is currently not installed in the car. It broke a push rod, and the motor was taken out to repair it, but we haven't gotten to it yet. The motor has not been disassembled. The car was last on the road about 15 yrs ago.

Just too many cars and too many projects. This car is too nice to sit around on the back burner which is why we're selling it. We just don't have time for it. Comes with Free Quaker Parrot!!!

$600 in Stafford VA.

I could make the wisecrack that this could be a great opportunity for someone to shoehorn in a cheap powerplant, and turn it into a LeMons racer. But Corvairs have always been on the "cool wall" IMHO. I hope someone picks this up to give it a nice restoration and get it back on the street.

I was just talking to a friend who is selling an old Ford Falcon racer car. He really enjoys racing and the old Falcon is just not competitive with all the Camaro/Mustang vintage racers out there. This would make a GREAT race car!

Not good mojo advertising something else on a for-sale thread.

My thought too! To bad it's not a 4 speed. Livery would have to include “Ralph Nader” or would that be “Barf Nader”

Fritz’s 2.7 would make a nice upgrade. My “spare” 3.2 even nicer!
