Continued work this weekend of install of my SSIs and M&K on my 80 SC.
In the process > I broke off the stud [aft of the thermostat] that holds the oil lines close to the car body. Is this stud screwed into the body? or welded? I've got about 1/4 inch remaining anyone BTDT ? suggestions?? kgl

I do believe those are welded.
If you dont have access to the backside to just drill it out and use a bolt/nut, think about using a "nutsert" or welding on another stud. FWIW, a nutsert is a threaded rivet. Allows one to essentially pop-rivet a nut onto any sheet metal. Works great for things like this. I think I have M4 and/or M6s around to give you one if you want to try that route. SMD
