I've never spun the car but at VIR with the bars set second hole from soft and rear full soft{Mike L's setting} it felt like the rear end was going to come around on me going up the S's. When I changed the rear to second hole from soft it became what to me is neutral. The car takes a set in turns and remains stable through the corner. My car doesn't understeer, at least in my opinion, doesn't oversteer either, again in my opinion.

Bob has it right, stiffer rear bar stops the rear body roll and gives a more planted, stable feeling and I like it better that way.

Dave, isn't your car's suspension completely different than mine? So is the weight.

Tony, I agree with you, it's time for someone like Dr John to drive it. I always try and catch a ride along with my instructor if they are up for it.

If it doesn't understeer and it doesn't oversteer, then you're driving it like my grandma. Increase your corner entry speed until it does one or the other. You will never ever learn car control if you don't.

You feel better about it because you're cornering at such low speeds. Once you increase your speed, you'll find that stiffening the rear bar like you've done makes the car tail-happy. The car will be MORE inclined to have the back end swing out on you. You can discover that at low speed, in turn 1 with a soft stock suspension. Or you can discover that at high speed in turn 9, with a highly modified track suspension. Hint: you do not want to spin in 9.

That's irrelevant here. The tuning concepts and handling behaviors involved are the same.

Larry, if that's your conclusion I recommend you stick with the having a pro look at your car. You do not understand the basics (which is fine, except that you do not feel like learning them, either).

I understand you are frustrated, and frankly there are 8+ pages of posts here from others who have tried to help but have wound up getting frustrated as well.

At the end of the day, do what makes you feel comfortable in the car. But good luck having people agree with your ideas when they are exactly the opposite from what the actions should be.

Nothing wrong with liking the understeer. Most americans are used to understeer and it is the standard comfort zone. Not the fastest setup for a pusher car but it is all for just fun untill you start making money at it.

says a guy with a BIG wing. Sure oversteer in slow corners is fine, but I would prefer understeer in the fast corners. If I had your wing, I would set up for mechanical oversteer and set the wing for a slight push at high speed.
