When we're talking 70's cars with horribly high CGs, very few of them could be said to roll. That involves lots of speed and energy. Those old cars simply fell over, often at very low speeds.

The people and rubbish falling out on the track was a bit of a shocker. Taking on the 'Ring without a seatbelt is a bit sporty. Kinda getting ambition confused with ability.

The best near-miss in my book was the Saab Sonnet (I think) very near the end. Thigh-slapper and then spinning off to driver's left, just missing the Armco.

The very last car rolling off with wheels pointing different directions reminded me of the Family Truckster on National Lampoon's Summer Vacation...

What a great collection!! I would like to know which corner most of those incidents were filmed at. Its obviously a crowd pleaser.

I also like the Bug that rolled over at 6:56; I wonder if that was a can of soda or beer that burst when it fell on the ground. I'm guessing beer.

And regarding the seat belts, after I purchased my 1972 Datsun 240Z (in early '80's), I happend to find an original dealer brochure for it's year at a swap meet. One of the things advertised as "Standard" was seat belts.

The film was shot at Adenauer Forst:

More vintage shots of the track here.

iirc, belts became mandatory for front seats in the US in 1968.
