Nah, I don't want it - just bin it. But thanks for grabbing it just in case.

Awesome pic. I remember that moment. I had just flashed by all four of those cars at rocket speed and was teaching them the inside line. Lift right about ... here, and rotate the back of the car around the corner--whoa, son, yes I am using the whole track now--back in line, please, and pay attention.

The pic Noah shot illustrates my new way to learn "zen" driving skills. By driving upside down, you cannot see the track and you are forced to rely upon your arse-o-meter and the "feel" of the car to drive quickly. You can develop sensitivity to pedal feel by using your hands rather than your feet. I must admit that the ISAAC harness was rather painful
Hey Todd, it was nice to (briefly) meet you on Sunday. I was the guy in the old bimmer who supplied you with a fuse. Presumably before you had engine trouble.

Yes David it was nice meeting you as well. Thanks for helping me out. Yes, my motor went at the very end of the last session of the last day. I just watched the video again and it still makes me depressed. Oh well, it could have been the 996

This was my first time there but I can easily see how it could become my favorite track. It seems as though somebody spent a lot of thought and time designing this track to make it interesting and challenging. Blind apexes, blind track outs, every kind of corner and challenge, multiple possible lines through corners, constant transitioning, and not a second to take a breather. Nice clean paddock area, and a great viewing spot from atop the bridge. And for all the hype about how this track might not be "safe", it seems there's runoff room nearly all around, plenty of tires, and no cars wrecked this weekend.

x2

With 2 tracks at SP now I can see my track time going up, up, up next year. Considering that no one really knows the track yet, I'm sure new tricks will be learned over the next couple years. Quite an experience for me learning a a technical new solo, great experience.

While I'll agree there is runoff room at the track, some places are pretty tight. The pit straight is just scary. It looks like they are making some changes there, I for one question why they chose that spot for the pits.

While the pit straight and the corners leading into it are scary, it forces cars to slow down a lot right where other cars are entering the track. I don't know, maybe that's good. Maybe there were space issues.

Let's build an official list of this stuff and make it a sticky.
In RL's case add spare oil cooler and torsion bars!

Cheap parts add up quickly when you have a spare of each one. My alternator died on the way to the track. It left me stranded (no kidding) 300 yards from the gate. Luckily there was a Spec e30 race at the main circuit and one of the guys had a spare to give me. An alternator isn't a $6 dizzy rotor, but my point is that it's so hard to know what's going to fail. Maybe I just need more experience in reading the early warning signs of something going bad.
