Great info all!

Tony- I'm right with ya, amen.

For the car in question I can see brake upgrades in the future. I want to make sure I have a firm grasp on the real upgrade costs before/if I make an offer on the car.

I had a similar quandry with my SC. A previous owner went through the effort of upgrading the fronts but left the rears stock, creating a curious (and spooky) braking balance situation.

Not wanting to upgrade to 16" wheels, let alone 17" wheels, I was able to balance the system out by going to 944T calipers front and rear. These wrap '84-89 Carrera rotors. When mixed with great track pads and fluid I have yet to find a fade point. Plus I can retain cheap 15" wheels for street or track.

Just a thought. Might not be cheaper than 930's but worked for me.

The 930 setup is expensive. I talked with Steve W at Rennsport about them. Believe it or not, the cheapest upgrade for my '72 is to have the brakes from my 930 modified to fit, and then buy a brembo upgrade kit for the 930 (which already has 18" wheels).

So I get to kill 2 birds with one upgrade kit!

Default I am working on your problem

Hi all, I am new to this site, but I am in Frederick. I make Brake kits for the 911's I don't mix and match parts from all 911's I use Wilwood rotors, and a mix of Wilwood, and porsche(Brembo) calipers. Alot of guys know me as a pelican, and many of my customers are off pelican's site. I have been working on a complete Wilwood front kit that fits under the 15" fuch, and am almost done with it. It should be a fair match for the WEVO kit that is soon to come out(but big $$$) My front kit will be right at the 1K mark, and that inculdes new Four piston Wilwood calipers. It will use a 29-32mm wide rotor. This kit would avoid having to find 930 calipers, and avoid paying out the rear for 930 rotors, the rotors in this kit would be about half the cost.

Do you have a car with them on it? If so, bring it out to the next gathering. We'd love to see your work.

what size master cylinder are you using and what size of pistons in the calipers?

is it just 2 front calipers or all 4?
