Here some update:

I stopped by last Friday at Scott's place, here are some pictures.

Should have removed the plastic for the picture

Next would be the underside chip guard and paint.

I'm building now a big powder coating oven, so i can do all large suspension pieces and the engine tin, etc. Unfortunately my compressor just died Yesterday , so now I'm in the market for a new one.

Cheers
Engelbert

Based on a handy tip from another Dorki I made one using foil covered ridged foam house insulation sheets. Easy to cut and put together with drywall screws and foil tape on the outside. Super cheap and disposable or disassemble and store flat when done. The foil and foam does start to show breakdown after a few uses but it is cheap and I did not end up with a big little used box in the corner of the shop.

I built it using 2 layers of 1/2. This let me ship lap the corners and make a double thick door that sealed well. I found that control of outside air is key to a good cure and proper cool down. a double layer glass window was handy but unnecessary. I found that had to watch the cook and cure.

I like the idea to make it so it can be disassembled. I will use mine for more then a few times, so I will build it from steel studs and galvanized sheet.

I think I should post the build and add it to the thread I have out there when I converted an old stove. http://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthread.php?t=32128

I will keep that one for the small parts.

Cheers
Engelbert

got the whole underside prepped for some epoxy and undercoating. Prepped, undercoated and painted the hood and engine lid undersides. Any spots on the underside the undercoating was missing got sanded back until it got to good adhesion and clean metal, then feathered it out so the new undercoating will blend in as fluidly as possible. I In the pics, you will see black paint on the floor and the shots of it not feathering out on the body are why I rant about PO15. I have no doubt Engelbert applied it properly, but I have seen time and time again, if the stuff gets scratched or sanded or chipped, it just starts coming off. We sanded it out to where it would feather then scuffed any that stayed adhered with 180 grit, so the epoxy will adhere to it properly. There were a few surface rust spots, they all got scrubbed and wiped with OSPHO until they rust was all gone and then a final scrub of OSPHO was left to do it's trick for the weekend. I also got the backsides of the bumper and bumperettes ready for epoxy and undercoat but forgot to take pics of them.
