You gonna post the video ???

I didn't hit anything other than a cone. I bypassed the bus stop while watching the 944 in front of me doing 360's. Fortunately he missed the armco.

Unfortunately, it appears a brought home a burnt exhaust valve.

Absolutely. I have had a chance both to watch the video AND look at the data. I believe I have a much better understanding of exactly what happened now. BTW, I entered Turn 10 at 86 mph Funny thing is that I had already made it through the turn at that speed maybe 5 or 6 times.

I want to synch the video with the data this time. It is illuminating.

BTW, thanks to Kurt, Paul and Tom for helping me get my car realigned and back on the track after missing only one run session.

Big thanks to Kurt for soldering up a fractured tensioner oil line for me friday night, and saving my weekend! And a thanks to Mark Francis for offering up a replacement line, which I somehow managed to crack while installing!

And thanks to Tony K and Dave R for troubleshooting Andy's engine problem, so he could make the trip home. And another thanks to Dave R for trailering home a wounded Boxster.

Great weekend, but more carnage then usual, including three bent Dorki cars.

That's why I said the data was illuminating. I was not really very much earlier that time than I had been every other time that I made it, AND, each of the other times I had had plenty of space at track out. Was I a little early? Yes. Was I a lot early? I really do not think so, particularly after looking at the data.

And a BIG thanks to Kurt for getting my fender/bumper buttoned back together so I could keep driving. He is quite skilled with the Genuine Porsche special bodywork tool number 3198 (aka 3' PVC pipe).

Default one to remember

One great weekend. Drama, failure, perserverance and..triumph! Sorry about the car George, way to recover and get back in the game. Battle scars, yeah!In a strange way the car looked intimidating.
I am now convinced that Kurt is the "man". In 7 years of racing I've never seen anyone fix an oil line with common solder. Second the thanks from black talon to Mssrs. Kelly(actually got his hands dirty..on my car)and Riley for trbleshooting my running problem. Got home on full power.
Hey I did a tank slapper in the downhill (turn 6?),would love to see the vid. I drive a black 87 911 stock appearing. Were you the marroon 993? I think that's who was behind me.
Official proclamation: In my book Black Talon is now officially a Hard Charger. From 2.37's midday Saturday to a 2:34.9 midday Sunday, and, going for it after a spin at the bus stop.

Don't worry, I will post video and data. Smoothness wasn't the issue. The "main" issue was that I got behind the car. I went into a balanced four wheel drift, which was fine, but then when I went from the concrete patch to the asphalt, the rear end came out relatively fast (it did not snap out). I have never gone from one type of slide to another. If I had opened up the wheel a little bit faster, I might have been able to stop the rear end from swinging out before it even started. Once it started, there was little to be done. You will see for yourselves . . .

BTW, it really was too bad. Until that incident, I had been having a great time, and had been running 2:27-28 with one 2:26 on my RA1s, which corded during the "infamous" run. Nonetheless, the 44 cup guys run 2:20-2:22 at Watkins Glen, presumably on Hoosiers.

Many thanks to Kurt, Paul and Tom for getting me back out so quickly that I only missed one run group.
