Looks like the toque tube gave up the ghost driving back from the swap meet in April

I found an option to pickup a rebuilt tube at 944 fest in September, stay tuned for details

Found a guy in Ohio who rebuilds 944 torque tubs. Long story short picking up the refurbished tube Labor Day weekend @944 fest which will be held at VIA and then the fund begins.

Photos of my refurbished torque tube

Then the real fun begins after I pick up the new tube, removal and replace

BTW: The rebuilt tube is $825 including core charge delivered to VIR

That's a nice lookin' tube!

R&R is a bitch, but not insurmountable. Good opportunity for some WYIT work.... Clutch, rear main seal, rear suspension bushings, etc. Also, take a good long look at the fuel lines that go up over the torsion tube. Definitely worth replacing while you have the torsion tube out for the torque tube replacement.

Good luck!

Young James decided that he wanted this car so…

It turns out the torque tube was in decent shape and the vibration was coming from a bad job rebuilding the right rear caliper. Keep wondering why we outsource this stuff instead of diy.

We sorted that out and continued with the madness.

John Graves was kind enough to source a nice set of Euro bumpers with all of the necessary hardware.

Really like the look and it dropped about 20lbs

Looking for a replacement fog light relay before diving into wiring up the Euro fog lights.

A PO has been messing with the factory set up.

Thanks John

The latest issue is a faulty temp gauge

It simply stopped working.

It’s a NA 1981 924

Any thoughts on where to begin with troubleshooting are appreciated

Looks like its a single wire sender, below the distributor. Ground the wire with key on and the gauge should go full hot.
