So the shop is saying the same as all of you guys. Which makes me a bit more relieved.
I keep expecting something else to go wrong now. I should have it back in the next day or so to find out.

Are you serious? I've been quoting you being wrong for sooo long!!

Per the new shop the original shop also reused the old boats when replacing the boot and they should not have!

Not sure if I have any recourse about all this but I think its the end of my long support for the original shop.

Any recommendations for indies shops near Manassas?

glad its fixed

torque to yield bolts shouldnt be reused, otherwise make sure the fastener isnt rounded, torque them and you are good to go. No reason to over inflate something, looks like the bolts werent checked before the wheel went back on. Not good, I would make sure the installer was made aware of their mistake.

x2. I would report back to the original shop if you have a ling history with them, and let them know what happened and what the 2nd shop found. Might be as simple as the long-time shop has a new-to-them tech that oversold his/ her abilities. Or there is a change in their attitude and they don't give a fuch anymore.

And yeah, I wouldn't have believed me either
