What did you do to the wiring harness? Clean it or tear it all down and rebuild?

Great thread! What did you use to clean the transmission?
VaSteve: I've had great luck cleaning up old wiring harnesses and sheaths using Goo Gone Gel. Spray on a rag and rub the wires and sheathing. |

That's a good idea. Taking it apart is counter productive as the wires have memory to where they belong.
Let's see what Engelbert actually did. |

It seems like in a time warp. I did a lot of this same stuff but took me a year plus. Car will be finished and back on the road before you know it.

I noticed two black metal air vanes on the back of the alternator cooling shroud. My 82 SC engine does not have those. It only has the weird cover/shroud. Makes it a PITA to remove the alternator from the (installed) engine.

These vanes direct the air flow, you may want to see if you find one with the vanes still on it.
