be really careful around the Pentagon. I drive that area all the time and there are lots of troopers positioned there...mostly to check trucks (no trucks allowed)
Yeah, I got pinched there in a F350 dualie. Cop asked my what I was driving when I said "pickup truck". I smiled for the camera and added to my bulging FBI file

Got back on the road and continued past the pentagon. Another cop stops me before I can get off in pentagon city (1st exit past the pentagon). Asks me "didn't you just get stopped up there..?" I replied "yes SIR" He says, "what are you doing here, you were supposed to get off before the pentagon" I said, "no one told me that " and, "I don't live down 395, I live right here off the exit" He let me go after radioing the other cops who acknowledged they didn't tell me to get off 110. They weren't happy ... and I went home with my "truck" with 55 gallons of CAM2 114 in the bed tank. Absolutely ridiculus way to generate OT for 5-oh.

The greenway is my favorite haunt. A few nice sweepers and straights. Can get in the triples pretty easy. Had a nice game of chase w/ a tunned M3 one day w/ my wife in the the car.

Anyway take it all the way to Great Falls then a left on Old Dominion back to Glebe. And yes, watch out for deer.

Its a good 20 mile decompression loop

Tried this yesterday. Though I'm gonna have to do it in the wee hours of the morning some time. That little stretch of GT Pike and Kirby Road were exactly what I was looking for.

Good Stuff.

Ok time to make Ya'll a little julious. I live in a little town called Scottsville, it is about 20 miles south of Charlotesville. I work on the norts side of the county right by the airport. My ride I drive 20 south into Charlottesville onto 20 north then finish up my drive on Proffit RD. For those familiar with these roads they have no passing lanes because There ara vurtully no straight places. These roads are listed as the most dangerous in the county because of of the single car fatalities.(some people have no respect for these roads). Vary few cops and the ones that do come here the Valentine 1 grabs. Just thought I would share.

Between Arlington, Alexandria, DC, Park, Fairfax, State Police, Local Sheriffs officers driving around, there are literally hundreds of ways to get a ticket "inside the beltway".
I concur. Ask me how I know. Any "spirited" driving that I do will be well away from the DC metro area. It's funny though, I never seem to get pulled over in my diesel VW...

Here's a little "cruise" story from a couple of days ago ... you need to be from the Burg to really envisage the environment.

Came back from Lowes the "back" way - to hook up with Ellett / Luster's Gate. Got stuck behind a big pickup as soon as I got on there, then caught up with a little Camry at the train tracks.

By this time I was a bit pissed off, since the Camry was going even slower than the bloody truck. Finally get to the passing zone after the 81 turnoff. This was two lanes, mostly straight, but a little undulating. No major cross streets, but some driveways.

Pull out from behind the truck, hit about 60 or so by the time I'm past the truck. The guy in the Camry decides he's turning left.

Luckily I'm past him before he crosses out of his lane, but it seemed pretty close.

Sometimes I'm grateful for the brown leather upholstery.

So just remember ... be careful if you're passing people on a road with turnoffs.
