replacing / fixing it is on the list. Have only had the car a couple days. Going to take it somewhere for a tech inspection or post purchase inspection to see what needs attention.
Will start with a valve adjustment / oil change for peace of mind. Chris |

Holy crap. Used speedos on ebay are expensive. Apparently the plastic odo gear is a common failure.

PM Grease Monkey on this board and ask who they use to recondition your own odometer.

I used North Hollywood Speedometer a few years ago when the ODO crapped out on my 911SC. Turn around was fairly quick and the speedo came back working right and looking nice.

Sent a speedo to N Hollywood speedometer a few years ago. Was in good shape just odo not working.
Needle fell off a week after repair. Sent it off again, got it back and it fried the wiring harness due to a short they created. They took no responsibility. Threw the speedo in the trash and got a used one on ebay. Don't think I will be sending anything to them. Chris 89 Carerra |

I've done this twice in two different 944s. I'm not sure if the procedure is different in a 911, but it can't be too far off. The link below contains the write up for 44 at clarks garage. If you have any questions let me know, I just did this in Jul.
