Congratulations, Gary!

Don't watch the guys video of his spin there passing a GT3 RSR parked in the corner.

There is a full course video of GT3s that's good. There is one of a low horsepower car that is agonizing to watch.

Unfortunately I have to cancel and will not be at Pitt since my daughter is swimming her tush off and qualified for JR Olympics and has a swim meet on May 6.
Congrats Gary and Daughter.

We stayed at the Park Inn last summer (and will again this August). It's the closest hotel to the track and I've been told the nicest hotel in town. And we had the added bonus of running into Paul (Radial Tire) checking in! Can't promise that last part, but the first two should still be true. Someone should take Gary up on his offer!

My reference for Caymans and Boxers is still Bill Lehman's video from a couple of years ago. This was when the south track first opened and there were not very good markings yet. It was also his first time on the track and he was way better than I had ever been. Studying his recording really contributed to reducing my times.

Microtel gets great reviews, and Park Inn gets pretty bleh reviews. Also, no restaurants (or fast food like Dunkin Donuts) near Park Inn, but there is a restaurant on site. All the food is down by Microtel. Just sayin'. Curious to hear what people think of Park Inn -- although I'd probably be relying on people willing to stay at Seneca Lodge!

I've not stayed in that particular Microtel, but the one I stayed in near the Philadelphia airport was one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at.

Yes, paucity of fast food. Actually the whole area has a paucity of fast food, but there are some and also several very good breakfast and lunch places in Ellwood City (10 minute drive). There is also a restaurant at the hotel (not free breakfast, though). There's an excellent Italian restaurant across the street just south of the Turnpike (could be walking distance if the weather is nice) - Giuseppe's Tuscany Grill. We drove various places for dinners (including New Castle), and found a GREAT ice cream place - Forbush Ice Cream (fresh made on site) half-way to New Castle.

We had a great (inexpensive) lunch in Ellwood City and looking at the map I'm pretty sure it was H&S Diner and Gyro Shop (but I could be wrong on the name).

Found this for line at Pitt (or browse any track), pick car type at right & play, thought it may help for those of us who've never been there.

Planning on staying at the Microtel. MSR showed a good rate of only $85/night so that leaves a little extra funds for gas and and very importantly, libations. Planning on arriving both hungry and thursty around 1900 Thursday.
