Congratulations, Collin! A lot of hard work. Love your smile when it fired up. Need some chrome Cragars and some phat Comp T/As to complete your 944 SS.

Thanks guys! I'm actually hoping to have the car on the ground in time for the Instructor Day next weekend....... Only major wild card is my pedal -- it's DBW and I currently can't seem to figure out why the pedal isn't responding.

What ECU is running this beast?
What tranny is in there? What rear end?
Are you using an adapter plate I presume?
Sorry, I don't know much about LS swaps into 944's.
Sounds great though
It's been fun. Kinda started it on a whim back in December when I fried the ancient piggyback on my car and evaluated options. Transmission is the stock 951 transmission; assuming they use a rigid mount and are triangulated properly, they're good for over 500rwhp. Essentially, the torque tube-and-back is all 944 turbo; the bellhousing-and-forward is all C6 Corvette.

Yeah...I'm totally going to be a Corvette drover now: Flying down the front straight at 200mph, I leisurely apply brakes at the 7-marker, gingerly point it toward the apex, wait until the car is pointed completely straight, and I MASH THE FUCHING GAS YEEEEE HAWWWWW!!!

Yes and no. Same rotors, pads, and calipers that I've been running. But in order to fit the V8, I had to remove the brake booster. Most folks run a Ford Hydroboost setup because it's slim, but that would require me running a power steering pump (nope nope nope). So I figured, "What the hell" and went all-in on a fully-manual, dual master cylinder setup with Tilton cylinders and a Wilwood bias bar.

I just hope I did my fluid mechanics calculations properly -- we'll see how she stops when I get her on the road.

Hope you took good notes so when I get around to building one I have all of your suggestions and what not to do.

I call first dibs on a right seat ride when you are ready to show off.
I'm pretty anal so I made sure to check spark and fuel prior to starting the engine, so I had a pretty good feeling. And I"d love to have you right seat -- you sure you know how to right-seat a Corvette drover though????? I mean, you do drive a momentum car after all.

Chebby 8's fit like they were made for the car. Done right they are more of everything you do want want and less of what you don't in a track car motor.
Yeah, the most nerve wracking actually came when I was overwriting the ECM to remove the VATS, starter checks, and emissions BS. For whatever reason, I was positive it was going to kill the ECM or some such nonsense.

And I'm hoping this is a pretty top-heavy motor. I put in a cam that has a decent overlap/duration/LSA but very modest lift. Should shift the power band way upwards. The engineer I chatted with told me I should set the redline at 7500, to which I responded, .

I said, "hell no, I don't feel comfortable with that" to which he responded, "fine, make it 7000 then." If I could rev this thing to 6700, I'll be a very happy man indeed -- especially considering the redline from the factory was like 5500. Good news is that the LS2 valvetrain is considerably more robust than the LS1.

I'm actually genuinely concerned about the power. Car has long tube Kooks headers, a cam, an underdrive pulley, and a lightweight flywheel/clutch. Only saving grace is the intake, which takes a bit of a circuitous route into my header panel, so that should rob a little power.

Haha, I like "944SS". Too redneck.

And she'll be shod with the same turquoise wheels we all know and love.

Bman can give you some pointers in case your calculations are off.

This is pretty easy...
