Default FS: Expired Schroth 6-pt harnesses

I'm looking to do something with a set of expired Schroth 6-pt harnesses. They expired 2015, and I will replace them for the upcoming DE season. I'm not sure if anyone has use for expired harnesses, but I hate to just throw them in the trash. Someone tell me if these are a safety hazard/liability, in which case I guess I will throw them in the trash. My car is garage-kept, so they have had limited exposure to UV. They are obviously used, but I was never in an accident with them, so they weren't used in that sense of the word!

Here is a link to the Schroth site: https://www.schrothracing.com/compet...m/profi-II-asm

I have driver and passenger side, and sub belts included for both. Lap belts are bolt-in and pull-down. 3" shoulder and lap belts. According to Schroth they have been HANS tested and approved.

$100 for the lot. Prefer local sale, but will ship at buyer's expense.

See if they offer a re webbing service, new belts, lower cost. Some manufacturers offer this service.

Just a thought

I routinely pull +3 to +4 g's doing acro, the plane it rated to +6,-3. Red Bull pilots pull +10 g's routinely although I'm not sure of their rules and typical air show performers also pulling high g's have no restrictions on harness dates. I guess they figure the harness only needs to keep you from hitting your head on the canopy because if you crash the belt is a moot item although you would probably bail out first.

Lots of guys like me that build sport planes put 5 pt harnesses in, don't see why a 6 pt wouldn't work. Hooker and Crow are the two most popular ones. Could be a good market for outdated harnesses like these. At the right price it makes it worth it to have them resized but my guess is they are probably already close enough to work in most applications with minimal changes.

Schroth does not re-web.

FWIW, I sold an old set of HANS Profi IIs on ebay for $150.

Mark, I'll take them. I just need one set but will find a use for the other.
