Actually a good suggestion, though they tend to be pricey. I have heard that Japan is actually a decent source for RoW cars still at reasonable prices. Could work with a reputable broker to source one.

been there done that. it was a nice hot rod, but in my old age i prefer to have a stock euro car. and as someone else mentioned, i could get one from europe because i really want one that has not been federalized at all, but i've also become more stingy in my old age and would prefer not to pay the premium in europe + exchange rate + shipping.

But any original Japanese car has the steering wheel on the wrong side and shifting towards you is awkward.

I suggest finding a NA car and upgrading the motor.

Word is not many coming from Europe, most going the other way. Though right now the Euro is taking in the shorts against the US $$$

That's a nice looking car if all the mechanical stuff checks out. Wish I had bought the light blue 85 I looked at with the ex-wife back in 2002. Could have had it for $18K but at the time we thought it was priced a little high since it needed a few things. It was a non-sunroof car and didn't have a mirror on the passenger door. And the owner had the original phone dials that came with the car.
