Peter, Is that what you learn by racing Miata's?

I try to teach my student to "look around the turn"...

[NOTE: Lesson here] I'm trying to get the video from the car in front, and will also post a bit more of this video. We were out in Blue, on my second lap. The BMW was on his first lap, on cold tires, and had gotten loose in turn 6 so I backed off. He's an E92, so I had trouble catching him between 7-8, and got too much "red mist" trying to catch him. Since his tires were cold, he braked early and hard, and I should have been ready for that and should have dropped back by then anyway. Thanks goodness I neither hit his beautiful car nor stuffed my less-beautiful car into those nice blue bushes - which you'll see (if I can get his video) I was awfully close to doing.

Good weekend guys and girls. Watkins is always worth the trip. Love the track and town.

Guess I should (somewhat) apologize about the T1 coolant. My father was driving the 944 and the heater valve broke off from the hose. There was still coolant left in the tank so it wasn't a full dump, but any coolant is too much on track. Heard T1 was a little exciting for the trailing cars, but I am really glad to hear everyone got through it cleanly w/ the exception of possible dirty shorts. Apologies about any lost track time.

There was enough plastic left on the valve to get the heater hose reattached, so we re-filled and bled the system. He was able to drive back to NJ w/o any issues; thankfully. Appreciate the help from Jim, Steve and Hugh to ensure the job was done right.

The cayman ran well and finished off a set of tires, so fresh rubber for the next event!

Peter,

Thank you. David Ameen's wife deserves the credit for that photo from last year's trip to The Glen.

A fantastic weekend all around. Next year cannot come soon enough.

Many thanks to everyone who made the weekend such as success. Thanks to Collin and Smalley for jumping into the car with me and to Ross for the informative session as a passenger in Black

Also - a VERY special thank you to my wife for jumping in an doing her first DE. I am very lucky to have her as such an enthusiastic and active participant. According to her instructor she was "the best" even though she cried during her last session yesterday.

ps. my buddy Jim was there taking pictures of the whole gang - I will send a link to the images once they are uploaded later this week

Video of my best lap of the weekend...

and the view back of me relaxing...

Michael,
Was there supposed to be a video link there?

I have to say, the Glen is always very social due to the large open garage, but it was more so than I've seen it this year, in large part to Michael and Pat (BikePump and TheLittleMrs--the latter of whom looks adorable in pig tails, by the way) who kept setting out food and drinks and hosting large groups of people. Maybe somebody can convince Mrs. Scott to take down some trees and put up a similar large, open garage at Summit Point...

We were talking about that for SP on the way home. Even if they did it without the doors it would be a huge attraction.

Coincidence, or ... not?

This is what I get when Peter says "I will show you 'around' the track" and the finer points of the driving lines.
Ken! Great sharing a garage with you again. Congratulations on your three time promotion to the Black-BLUE!-GREEN!-Black-BLUE!-GREEN!-Black run group I think the Dr. K-Ken Team is ready for synchronized 911 dancing!
