Default WTB: Nice 914

I'm looking for a nice, drivable 914 in decent condition. I'd prefer an early one ('70-'72), but will consider any year. I don't have time for another project right now, so I want one that I can drive and enjoy for a few years before it'll need major work/restoration. And, of course, I'd like for it to be at a reasonable price.

Please let me know if you have one available, or can point me towards one. Thanks!

Surf the classifieds and search the board for "what to look for", "buying my first 914" etc on 914world.com. Don't be afraid to transport an example from the rust free states. You can look in my garage if you've never climbed in and over one. Have a thought of letting my 74 go but then I'd only have half the number of Porsches as tr

Something about the way they have the starter mounted in the rear trunk might be related to the not running (pic 5) ;>)

mmm he wants a unicorn!

914 world and the samba are good places to look. Sorry I don't know of any nice ones for sale at the moment.

Curious as to the preference for an "early car" and what the budget might be?

I don't like the big rubber bumper pads on the later cars, that's all. However, that wouldn't stop me from getting a later car, if it was nice and priced right.

Big rubber bumpers are only 75-76 and if you don't like them, you can easily backdate them so your 75 will look just like a 71. Early engines are all 1.7 but by now could be any displacement .
