Default VIR DE last weekend

Did the NC DE at VIR this past weekend. Couple of observations on the track without Oak Tree:

1. Much faster now, the revamped curbing makes it much quicker going in and though. The exit curbing is being re-done this winter to extend it further into the dirt = quicker exit speeds. Curbing also be redone through Roller Coaster/Hog Pen complex starting next few weeks.
2. They cut down the OTHER oak tree at Start-Finish which removed the apex reference point. Also removed the Start-Finish tower which is being moved further down track to turn #1.
3. Paving is underway in the paddock area getting rid of the dirt/gravel mix. Should be nice.

See you'll next year.

That's a shame that they cut down the other. Its all to attract the pro series, but its losing its nice "club" appeal to me.

Getting rid of the beach will be nice. Maybe they could plant the trees in the paddock.

No too odd, just tight because North was closed for repaving.

Well, that tree AND the tower are gone. Going to make for messy starts at CR until we get used to it.

Won't they have to have some sort of tower for starts? Stand in that thing when red group goes by....it shakes!

Where is that post about the repave?
