It brings to mind the words of the poet philosopher David Bromberg "A man should never gamble more than he can afford to lose..."
The words of the sociological ethicist Harry Callahan "A man's got to know his limitations." ring true as well.

Sounds like he could afford it - fixed it to race again according to the commentator. Good thing he wasn't wearing a period correct helmet though.

As you know, gastroenterologists work the "gastric" end, too. I've pulled many things out of peoples esophagi and stomachs. That microphone might have made it by her teeth, but would not have gone past the oropharynx with her head not bent back a la sword swallower. Too big and too long. It might have caused some serious damage to her uvula or posterior pharynx (or teeth).

There was a skier whose pole got stuck in the snow and fell on the handle end - went right into his mouth missing teeth completely, but did cause damage to the uvula (the thing that hangs down in the back).
