Default FS: 944 turbo S wheels, glass hatch, rose interior bits

Last year's extemporaneous bodywork means I no longer have to think about returning it to stock. Time to get rid of all the saved parts:

* clean set of factory forged wheels, 16x7&9, with original anodized finish. Way too nice for track wheels and somewhat hard to find unpolished. Harvey Weidman gets $2k a set to restore but I might be crazy asking $800 the set, offers entertained. Sold.

* Decent rear glass hatch $250

* Silver rose interior bits $50 each line item, big discounts for multiples:
* Worn front seat upholstery with extra cloth, maybe suitable for repairs
* Rear seatbacks & squabs
* trunk carpet & luggage cover
* sunroof bag
* factory cassette player, cassette tray & cover

* Faded silver rose interior panels: even swap for a color that works with reddish silver.

Probably have more, please drop a line and I'll check. Thanks!

is the hatch separating anywhere? What condition is the rubber duckbill in? Pictures and location?

Thanks,
Greg

Hatch is in good shape, no separation although I'm sure the glue is delaminating in places like they all do. Spoiler is good, some sun damage on the top. Pics from today, so it's wet, happy to send a dry one once the rain stops. I'm near Purcellville VA.

Ed,
There are dimples in the glass along the top edge. When initially installed, these dimples were almost up against the edge of the metal frame. The black "paint" on the inside around the edges of the glass was part of the bonding between the glass and frame. Over time/UV, the bonding material tends to flake off. As the glass moves out of the upper frame, the dimples get further from the metal frame. There's about 1/2 inch of glass beyond the dimples. New hatch struts seems to be an exacerbating cause, as the pressure of the new shocks in the closed position is constantly pulling the glass away from the top edge.

Thanks, Tony - I knew about the black material but never about the dimples. Great info and good timing, the setting sun makes them easy to photograph.

Answer: looks like the frame is separating some.

I'm maybe missing something, are you parting this car ?

If so, how does the front look like ? Fender, front section ?

Wheels are light, strong and somewhat rare. Should fit late offset 44s, S2, 928, 964 & 993. Will allso fit 996 and 986 though most go w/bigger wheels. Couple yeas ago these would bring BIG money from a racer. Sometime in the future they will also command big $$$

These are great wheels for track use and made by Fuchs. The 60 mm offset in the front creates some issues for non turbo S cars. I have three sets of the 9" rears that I used to run on all 4 corners of the race car. Problem is that a variety of 16" tires seem to be getting harder to find.

Many of the racers have gone to 15" wheels to use a specific Hoosier tire. These 8x16" wheels will squeeze into the FRONT of an SC or Carrera with just the right offset, so they're valuable if someone is running 16s.
