Was thinking the same thing. Seems like it was twichy in the slower corners but took off on the straights gaining hard to make up time.

Out of class racers really make no sense. I was battling for 2nd place at road atlanta last year in GTS2 when a GTS4 porsche does something very similar for a couple laps. Holds us up in turns (though sometimes we'd both get by) and MOTORS by on the straights. For the first time in my life I was muttering bad things about old 911 drivers

What's up with your car? No status or pics in a while. How about an update?

Different topic; mustangs did seem to be everywere... you wanted to go to get around them!

This happen to me at WG club race I was holding most top E cars on friday practice, by giving a pass I learn the line, carry a little more speed on the turns and really help me learn the bus stop. Second race saturday I had a lot of fun trying to make a move on those same cars that I let pass day before. That is how improved at WG and finally getting close to the next G car.

Are we sure this is not the same guy that Frank Vento clip at Club race at VIR

Question from a non-racer. Is it obvious the guy behind you is "out of class"? How about the 2nd car behind you that may take the opportunity to follow the out of class car and pass you for position?

In this particular case, he was the only guy in his class. Usually always a good idea (as a racer) to walk around grid and also keep an eye on qualifying sheets to know who is who so that very scenario does not happen.

I did not have a chance to talk to him after the race because I was frantic in having to prep and get our GTS2 car ready for our renter who was racing in the group afterwards. I did end up emailing him and had a nice exchange. As I thought, he didnt mean anything by it and was just looking to have fun racing someone. No harm done since I beat Omar, but is the nature of multi-class racing.

In this video, I was running GTS4 trim which was 330rwhp and overweight at 3080#. I know those 914s are light, but man, he pulled like crazy!

Same old story from Wonger. You BMW guys just can't stand it when a Porsche out drives you

And yes, the all of GTS should be in the Autobahn group.

Frustrating he held you up so much in the corners, but could walk away on the straights. FWIW, I would have expected the 914 to be able to outhandle your car as well. To me, he wasn't driving it as well as you were driving your Bimmer.

I had a similar situation some years back where a 911 (can't remember which Class) was new to Summit Point, and drove like crap in the corners. Somehow, he and I ended up with almost identical quali times, so gridded next to each other. After the first lap, he had at least 8 car lengths on me by T1, but I had caught him by T4. Then had to follow around, because he wouldn't let me pass, until T9. He'd pull 2 car lengths on my T10, but by trackout I was on his butt again. Then he'd pull another 8 car lengths by T1. Fortunately, he finally started learning the track by Sunday's last race, at which point I didn't have to mess with him anymore.

that is frustration to watch...VIR does this to me all the time....
Look at my Enduro vid from this year, Red G car gets around me on the restart after the yellow....i CANNOT get around him because he can motor down the straights but im pushing him thru all the corners....I pitted early to get out from behind him...lap times went from like 2:17-18 to a 2:14-15...i think you can actually hear me yelling at him in the cockpit....does kinda help you drive harder though haha.
I even tried backing off in certain places to see if i could match my fastest place on track compared to his to make a pass work...ended up getting blocked each time...

what can ya do besides have someone throw out spike strips.

Nice driving though wonger and congrats on the win in your fatty car.

What's your GTS3 trim?

Any idea how Omar is setup? I assume he's over 3080# based on the hightech sandbag I saw in his front compartment at Hyperfest.
