Very tempting. However, my family expects me to do some things with them this summer! The result is that I'll be doing lots of driving the first two weekends of August, but it will be at the wheel of a Suburban (AKA the 5,000+ lb pig) going back and forth to Illinois.

Lots of track time. Right now only 45 cars. Might have only 2 run groups. 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. All day long.

Now that's tempting! Please let us know if/when that's confirmed.

I just got back from a 2+ hours of driving at Summit today (yes, after the three-day DE this past weekend), but 4 hours driving a day would be awesome.

You're doing a lot of track days in the wife's new car! Have you looked into track insurance?

Lots have it as we've found our regular insurance policies don’t cover track incidences.

Thanks for the suggestion. We think our regular car insurance covers us (policy has been reviewed by an underwriter and claims person), but we're also adding the Lockton insurance for multi-day DEs. No additional cost if the wife and I are both driving and, strangely, price doesn't seem to depend on the number of days of the DE.

I checked with them and they confirmed that it will be a lot of track time. The schedule is still being worked out, but I'm guessing at least 3 hours/day per person. They also said I can go for just one day (will be at Shenandoah on the Saturday) at a reduced cost. I'm probably going to go for it, and I suggest that y'all have a look. And it's a good chance to help one of our PCA regions, since having so few cars will probably put them at a big financial loss for the event and hurt their program overall.
