Still trying to get committments for two of the events; hope to have it all settled by end of next week.

Woohoo -- got a new shop to try out this season. March 24 will be held at Sportscar Shop in Sterling, Va. http://www.sportscarshopinc.com/

It's a full-service repair facility + garage 'club'. They support racers as well, including some PCAers, and have some interesting projects in development.

This should start of the 2012 Tech season in style!

I've done some DE before, but it's been a while. This year I hope to get back into the action. I live near Upper Marlboro, and the shops listed for tech are a pretty good haul for me. Any recommendations for getting a tech inspection closer to home?

Am I correct in thinking that the official tech inspections are done free of charge? If that's the case, then maybe it's worth the drive.

Don't mean to speak for the head techs but, yes, the PCA Potomacs are free but there may be a shop in your area that can tech your car; I've seen many advertise that they can and do and may be free also. You need to find a shop in your area to go to; check out der Vorganger for list of advertisers; it's nice to use those who sponsor us.

PCA Potomac pre DE tech are free (except for large bribes Tiff in Annapolis would probably be acceptable, as would the Annapolis Porsche dealer. How much they would charge for a non client ??? Most shops do them free to regular clients

I created a public Google Calendar to track the 2012 DE and Tech Inspection schedule (much easier to see it on my personal and work calendars.Also makes sure my wife doesn't make any commitments for me on track weekends ). I've made it public so others can use it.

For the June 9 Tech Inspection, would there be an opportunity to use/rent a lift for a couple hours at the facility (Autobahn in Fairfax)?

I am planning to replace my front sway bar and install adjustable drop links, which would be easier to do on a lift.

If not, would anybody that owns a lift in the Alexandria/McLean/Fairfax vicinity allow us to use/rent it on that day?
