Rick, where do you get the Motul from? Like you said, M1 isn't worth it at $8+ per quart. I switched to Redline since it's readily available at OG, and on Amazon.com with free shipping.

You can get Motul on eBay for the same price as I got it from Motorspot.com. I ordered it around 5pm on Thurs. and it was on my doorstep by 2pm on Friday. I think they had it in a local warehouse and used a courier. I got the 6100 for $36.90 per 5 litre jug (three of them) plus $15 shipping.

I've got Motul 6100. 5L jug for $40. Another option is the non-street legal Valvoline VR1 Race stuff. That is what I use on the yellow car. 20W50 though, but $9/qt through Jegs.com

Local parts store had a coupon a few weeks ago, free case. Keep an eye out, the Autozone near me stocks it.

I haven't seen any big jugs, or even any quarts at wallmart in a long time. Picked some quarts up at an autozone in Fredericksburg on my way back from vacation a couple weeks ago. Pricey.

Yea, it's tough to find. I switched to another oil several years ago and have seven of the large containers (5qt) that I put on craig's list several weeks ago. No takers for some reason. I thought it would be snapped up. Anyway, if anyone out there wants it, send me a pm.

Steve, you may wish to reconsider using Mobil 1 in your 944. You have the old style lifters, (not the newer roller lifters), and need zinc in your oil to keep from getting too much wear in the lifters.

Consider a comparison of wear metals using Blackstone Labs. I used to use Mobil 1, but have switched to Rotella T6 5W40 Synthetic used in heavy duty diesel engines. It's available in gallon jugs from Walmart. I know there are better race oils, but this has a lot of zinc in it, and I'm using it in 3 of my vehicles.

I don't understand the whole zinc thing...do you have a link? I like the idea of stuff I can find without going to ebay.

The V-Twin version is available at Auto Zone, etc. Found it cheaper to mail order (Amazon) in 20/50 weight. Supposed to have more Zinc.

ZDDPlus is $10/bottle (1-2 bottles per 911 change, depending on the oil) may be cheaper than racing oil, provided you're adding it to good oil. I personally plan to add it 1 bottle/10 quarts of Mobil-1 Red Top (15W/50). And alternate that with Brad Penn. I'm now set up with plenty of each.
