Default Some sad news I found out last night

Just thought I'd share this. Most of you Dorki's have heard me talk about the PORSCHEPhile in Santa Cruz (3,000 miles away from VA) who sold me his 993 last summer. It has been described as the "deal" of the year by some, once you see the car and its condition. I told you guys how we had become friends and how he would call every other week, asking if I would sell it back to him (he was joking 90%) but did speak to my wife 2x when I was out of town still asking if I would consider it. Well I finally convinced him to get another P-car and he got a 996. We spoke a few more times after that by which time he had set about "fixing" the 996 with the same set of wheels and tires he had on his former 993. We talked some more when he sent me pictures of the car (which I cannot find now) and said if I ever needed tires, he had some wholesale tire guys who could hook me up. I need rear tires before my VA safety inspection so I called him last night and his wife broke the news to me. It was really sad as she broke down uncontrollably. Monte Geisler had died after a short illness 3 weeks ago. I could go on, but let's just say this great PORSCHE family of ours lost an enthusiastic member and I hope there is a dealership in the great beyond, where my friend can talk 993's and 911's. Sorry guys, but I really felt bad after my call. Gil

Gil,

Ever since I saw your car at the Club Race last year, I knew it was special. Now I know why. Thanks for your heartfelt message.

Default Thanks guys.

I do feel better today, knowing that he gave me a golden opportunity to own a 993. Maybe a spirited fun run as soon as the weather breaks is in order! What say you?
