Default Shop suggestion for Mini?

Friend/neighbor of mine has an out of warranty Mini Cooper and she's growing tired of the massive dealer bills and is looking for an affordable and competent shop near Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Dulles, Fairfax, Tysons, etc.

I've used and been very happy with ASG... Are they good for Mini's? What other shops are good?

Hmmm... guess there aren't many Mini owners in NoVA.

The only shop I've found that claims to specialize in Minis (along with Mercedes and BMW) is this place: Fairfax Service Center. Anyone used them? Any good? Fair prices?

John:

Ted and I have been there (BMW / mini specialists), I wouldn't go back. Check with the pipes for his impression(s).

How about funktionauto.com?

Check with cmartin (had a mini & worked on them I believe).

I've had Intersport work on ours. No complaints, other than the hourly rate.

Thanks for the suggestions. FunKtion might be good... I'll suggest she give them a try.

We're in Sterling, could give you assistance if interested. I've done top end rebuilds as well as general service and repairs for new era Mini's. In fact my neighbor in the shop complex owns a car with one of my Mini top end rebuilds. Labor rate is $75hr. to anyone with any car I'm willing to take on.
My site is at ecsofvirginia.com. No Bimmer stuff on the site but you'll get the idea.

Best, Josh

FWIW, Funktion has more experience with first generation "BMW" Minis versus the new ones (2007+).

RRT is good and i USED to recommend Funktion, but they have a bill due from me that they keep ignoring me on for a year now. So I wont recommend them until they pay up.
