I'm glad I happened to be there when the engine fired for the first time in Darth Garth. I know it's a good feeling after the hundreds of hours you've spent on this project.

I suggest you put the air filter on before running the engine again. That paper towel could've easily been ingested in the intake vs. the fan!

Didn't the engine run perfectly fine before?

Congrats on Garth's successful resuscitation!

BTW, I have the 17MM tranny plug Allen tool if you still need to borrow.

Peter, just get a short bolt w/a 17mm head and double nut it. I did it in a pinch and still have the "tool."

Tried that, and it didn't work. But I did borrow the proper tool from OldTee and it came right off! Swepco in car, closed back up, and looking great.

Help! We're almost done with the suspension upgrade, but can't get the adjustable Koni's out from the front struts to put in the custom-valved Bilsteins. I assume the ring in the photo is supposed to turn to get this off, but tried a large crescent wrench and a large plumber's wrench, and it's not budging. It has an internal 34 mm hex opening so there's probably a special tool. Anybody happen to have that special tool, or have a suggestion how to do this?
