Default 964 Sway bars ?

I ordered Bilstein HD and H&R reds today, but did not pull the trigger on F/R H&R sway bars because I am not sure what I need. Do I need to use drop links with the H&R sways on 964 or could the H&R bars replace the stock ones without drop links? What is the advantage of using drop links with the sway bars?

I don't have the knowledge to answer your question, but I would hope the vendor would know (unless you are buying used...)

You could have called the vendor and posted the answer and I am not buying used.

Consider it done -- who's the vendor?

Looking at pics at serveral vendor sites, it sure looks like these are bars only, and you'll need to keep the drop links. They are adjustable by moving the top of the drop link to the different holes.

So you are saying that I can just buy the bars, but adjustability costs more money cause I am thinking that the stock bars on a 964 C2 did not have drop links. Did you check prices while you were on those vendor sites? I like this stressfree not-shopping experience

PET says they are stock on 964s: 964 343 069 01

Pelican wants $134 and $170 (L & R) for new front drop links

Vendors seems to want ~$320 for front H&R sway

Most people use the factory RS adjustable sway bars on 964 and 993.

Upgrading to the RS front drop links is critical on a 964 or 993; have seen many stock front drop links break.

For the rear the primary advantage is convenience - the stock rear drop link is set in molded rubber set at an angle and twisted, and it will only reach two of the three settings. To reach the other end you have to unbolt the drop link and filp them around. When they were unobtaniumm I had Mike Levitas make a set for me; Tarrett Engineering now makes a nicer/less expensive solution.

Eric,

Do you know if I can use the RS drop links with H&R bars? IIRC, the H&R are 26 F and 24 R, where as the RS R bars are 18. Do not remember the size od RS F bars.

Thanks for the Tarret info. I'll check them out.

David, we're out of milk, diapers, tomatoes, & bananas. Can you drop this stuff off on your way home from work tonight? Mmm-kay, thanks.
