Bill,
I am thinking about the worst possible situation. I am going to pull the heads, cylinders and pistons for an examination, while the engine is out. If the cylinders and pistons are good and are alusil, I'll reuse them. If they are bad, I'll go the 3.2 route. If the cylinders are bad and are nikasils, I'll rehone them and reuse. It is hard to say right now. I have to find out which ones they are and make appropriate decisions after the examination. Andy

You can also rehone/replate Alusil to Nikasil AND get a displacement bump to 3.2 if you want. Juse high comp JE's for a nice bump in torque.

Charlie, I knew you got them replated, but did you go 3.2?

Nope....should have though, still kicking myself. The 98mm pistons are pretty much the same price as the 95's, just needed to pay the little extra for the boring.

Charlie,
Thanks Charlie, who does the rehoning and replating of Alusils to Nikasils?, and how much?. I was grossly misinformed that to go the 3.2 route, I'll need a set of 3.2 barrels and a set of JE pistons?. Andy

EBS in Sparks Nevada can bore out Alusils to 98mm (3.2 displacement) and replate to Nikasil. They can also provide you with the appropriate JE's. At the time, replating cost about $150/cylinder and the pistons were ~$800.
