The other thing that blows my mind about Kurt's "Holy Carp" is that he judiciously sent it out on it first outing with the suspension set about 2" ABOVE where it should be.....and it still turned 1:22's !!

You guys are so easily impressed. From the "before" picture to the "after" picture was just some welding and bolting parts on...

During the first shake out weekend I found that the motor would fuel starve in some corners. I moved the pickup tube in the cell and it improved things but only a little and only if the tank were stuffed full. After 8 or 9 laps the fuel pickup would again uncover in high G corners. I purchased an inexpensive passive ATL surge tank with 3 ball check valves. (the kit was cheaper than the 3 valves as parts) ATL cells have an oval shaped bulkhead opening and the surge tank is a good bit larger than the hole in the non ATL cell I have. Ship in a bottle time. I cut slot in the plastic tank making the tank into a C shape of sorts. After cutting and bending a strip of aluminum I riveted it to the cut out strip. I dry fit the cut back into the slot in the surge tank and then drilled and dry fit the rest of the rivets. Took it back part and stuffed it through the hole and into the cell. Working inside the tank with one hand I riveted it together and then reinstalled the valves and fittings. Fitted then snugged up up the fuel hose with a Otecker clamp. I took some measurements and bent a curve in a thin strip of steel to pin the tank in place. It runs between the bottom of the surge tank and the metal internal bulkhead ring (red arrow) There are ribs in the cell wall and the surge tank sits right in between them. After replacing the foam blocks so they make flow channels to the check valves the cell went back in the car. Hopefully I can get more than 8 laps before refueling.
