Here's a recent photo with snow shoes for going up to the ski slopes!
Hi Kimo, Welcome! I live in Fairfax Station too. Hope your vehicle treats you well.

Hi Jim,
we should meet up sometime. Are you going to the VA PCA club breakfast next week?

Hello-

I've been lurking for a while, but wanted to do the cheesy first intro.

I am Jeff and live in Mechanicsville, VA and have an '89 911 cab (pics below). It has 35k on it and is pretty much stock except for the mods in the signature.

Other Pcars I have also owned:

'89 944 na
'02 Boxster S
'55 550 Spyder (Beck replica with 2160cc stroker)

Other toys owned:

'93 CBR600 Honda
'80 CJ7
'02 HD Fat Boy

Anyway, looking forward to discussing all things Porsche with you all and hopefully meeting up and doing fun stuff soon.

Later,

Hi Jeff,

Welcome! I'm curious about what you thought of that Beck 550. How did you like it?
I have a friend who has always wanted to try one.

Cheers!

HAHA, I'm going to a gun show tomorrow, might pick me up an AR-15.

His "tow" vehicle could dust most of our track cars though

Hi Jeff:

Welcome to "open" v. "lurker" status.

Used to have a nice tricked out '84 CJ-7.

Nice 911.

The 550 spyder was great around town or for short runs under 100 miles. Straight exhaust, no cats, very loud and visceral. It was crazy fast in first and second gear. It definitely attracted a lot of attention/thumbs up everywhere you went The ring and pinion was the standard 4.11 VW ratio and when you got up to 65-70 you were running about 3500-3600 RPM which is why I would recommend the 3.88 "freeway flyer" tranny or short trips only. It weighed about 1250 pounds and had 160+ HP which is a nice HP/weight ratio. Also, simple VW maintenance costs are a plus, but the crash safety was zero.

I only sold it because a guy offered me $5k more than I paid for it, so at that point, nothing is that special to me after a year of ownership.
