Greetings everyone,
I have not posted for quite some time. Time to cull the herd. My 1968 911 L will be auctioned TODAY at no reserve in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was my barn find that I posted about almost 20 years ago. The thread link is still in my signature below. I really enjoyed talking with Grady Clay for advice. It underwent full OEM matching numbers engine rebuild to “911S” 2.0 spec with Dennis Frick at Europa Macchina. It screams from 4400 to 7200. Transmission is factory ratios, and I think was rebuilt at the time with new clutch. It was originally a Sporto car from Al Holberts that was converted to a five speed, as was very common in the day. Originally Irish Green now Polo Red in the distant past. It has many other goodies, such as 911S tach, 40% Guards LSD, Elephant bronze poly bushings, 4 pt racing belts, 6” Deep Fuchs, glass city light headlights, Holberts frame, etc. I think this may be the last US made 911L coupe. It definitely has rust in the rockers and needs some bodywork, but I just enjoyed driving the car as is without worry. Many of the OEM parts I acquired to restore the car are also for sale at the same auction today. Cheers, Henry https://reddingauction.com/item/5-1968-porche-911l/ https://forums.pelicanparts.com/pors...ober-30-a.html
